The death of a 2-month-old boy who had been found unconscious in Staten Island three months ago has been ruled a homicide — with authorities saying the infant ingested fentanyl.
Little Paulie Khan of Barnegat, NJ, was discovered unresponsive inside the home on Arden Avenue near Arthur Kill Road in Village Greens — where his mom was visiting someone — around noon March 8, authorities said.
His mother called 911, and the baby was rushed to Staten Island University South Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police initially said the boy had no signs of trauma.
But the city medical examiner’s office later ruled the death a homicide, determining that the tot had ingested fentanyl, police said.
No arrests had been made by Friday morning, and the investigation is ongoing, cops said.
