The man accused of randomly stabbing a 14-year-old boy to death in the Bronx earlier this year is unfit to stand trial, a judge ruled Thursday.
Waldo Mejia, 29, was sent back to a psychiatric facility where he’ll remain until he’s deemed fit to be tried for the murder of teen Caleb Rijos, according to prosecutors.
The ruling Thursday by Bronx Supreme Court Justice George Villegas came months after Mejia was booted from court while going on an unhinged rant about Satan.
Rijos was walking to school on Jan. 10 when Mejia allegedly plunged a knife into the boy’s chest on East 138th Street.
As the boy lay dying, he called his father and cried “I can’t breathe,” a family friend told The Post.
Mejia, who has a history of mental illness and a long rap sheet, was nabbed the next day and slapped with charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
A week before the deadly stabbing, Mejia allegedly randomly slashed a straphanger inside a Bronx subway station just feet away from Rijo’s murder — leaving the victim with a vicious gash to the arm.
Mejia also tormented his neighbors — randomly stabbing one of their Ring cameras and kicking in their door.
He was charged for the attack on the neighbor’s camera and released back on the streets, leading Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch to rail against the criminal justice system that “continue[s] to fail us.”
Mejia’s arraignment in the murder case turned to chaos when he screamed “My name is Waldo Mejia, so get ready to f—king suffer along with me!”
“I’m with Satan!” he continued. “Piece of s–t a–people! Get ready to f–king suffer!”
A judge held him without bail and ordered a psych exam.
