An elderly Hawaiian woman was kidnapped and restrained in her own car for several days — forcing her to urinate on herself — as her captor drove around and threatened to kill her if she didn’t withdraw all her money from the bank, according to court documents.
The 77-year-old woman had agreed to let Fortune Marchan, a 22-year-old New Jersey native, borrow her car to make deliveries while she was at work after the two struck up a friendship, according to documents obtained by Island News.
Instead, he allegedly put a knife in her face and told her “I’m not letting you out” and “if you get out, I will kill you,” authorities said.

The pair spent the next four days driving around the island and sleeping at night in the parking lot of Sandy’s Beach Park in Honolulu.
The suspect allegedly refused to let her go, forcing her to urinate on herself while she was restrained in the front passenger seat, according to the docs.
Marchan drove the woman to the Bank of Hawaii in Kaneohe and demanded she withdraw all of her money and fork it over to him, according to the docs charging him with kidnapping and robbery.
“If you don’t take out all your money, I will kill you. I will stab you in the head,” he allegedly threatened her, the woman told police.
The elderly woman walked into the bank and caught the attention of a security officer there and told him to call the cops, who later arrived at the bank and arrested Marchan, the report said.
She later told cops she first met Marchand at a McDonalds in Kailua — and struck up an unlikely friendship after first reprimanding him for gambling with young children, she told police.

They saw each other over the next few weeks at the same McDonald’s and struck up conversations.
On March 30, he asked her if he could borrow her car to make DoorDash deliveries to make some money — and she agreed on the condition he returned it to her every day when he was done, the documents said.
The following morning, Marchan picked her up from her caretaker job, and allegedly told her, “It’s my car and I’m keeping it.”
Marchan allegedly held a rusty butcher’s knife in her face, refusing to let her out as he made his threats to kill her, the docs said.
The woman had not permanent address and would sleep at her job where she worked as a live-in caretaker.
On her days off, she would live in her car, where she kept all her personal belongings.
