A Spirit Airlines pilot has been grounded after he was arrested at a Louisiana airport and charged with stalking two minors near his home state of Missouri, officials said.
Dominic Cipolla, 40, was hauled away in cuffs by local authorities while working at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on July 17 after he was accused of creepily trailing a 12- and 17-year-old in Olathe, Kansas, according to a criminal complaint obtained by The Guardian.
The military veteran, who reportedly joined the ultra-low cost airline in 2022 as a first officer, has since been relieved of duty pending an investigation.
“We are aware of a matter involving a Pilot at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), which was unrelated to the performance of their job duties,” a Spirit spokesperson told The Post.
“The Pilot was removed from duty pending our investigation into the matter, and we arranged for another Pilot to operate the flight.”
The sketchy aviator, a Kansas City resident living about 22 miles north of Olathe, was thrown behind bars in New Orleans until he was extradited to the Sunflower State on Saturday.
He was booked at a Johnson County jail and later released on a $12,500 bond, the outlet reported.
While little information has been shared about the allegations and charges, one count is classified as a severity level 7 person felony, which carries a prison term of up to three years, the outlet reported.
The lesser misdemeanor charge is related to the teenage victim.
If convicted, he faces a fine of up to $2,500 or up to one year in a local lock up.
Cipolla is due back in court on Aug. 12.
The Johnson County Court Clerk’s Office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request.
