A stranger slashed a 21-year-old man in the face in an unprovoked attack on board a Bronx train late Thursday, cops said.
The victim was riding a southbound No. 6 train passing through the Zerega Avenue station around 11:45 p.m. when a maniac randomly cut him on the left side of the face with a sharp object, police said.
The attacker got off the train, leaving the wounded man on board, authorities said.
The victim got off the train at the next stop, Castle Hill Avenue, where he called 911 and officers responded, police said.
He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, cops said.
The attacker – who sources describe as a man in his 20s with braids, wearing a black hoodie and standing about 5-foot-5 – fled the scene and had not been caught by Friday.
The unprovoked attack came two days after another unhinged man shoved and pummeled an 85-year-old straphanger inside a Brooklyn subway station Tuesday, cops said.
The octogenarian was waiting for a Manhattan-bound J train at Broadway Junction around 11:15 a.m. when a complete stranger – later identified as Jeffrey Joseph, 39 – randomly pushed, punched and kicked him, authorities and sources said.
Joseph was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.
