An unhinged commuter has been arrested after a startling video showed her violently shoving an elderly woman off a Boston bus, causing the victim to slam face-first on the sidewalk.
The MBTA Transit Police announced Wednesday night that detectives have located and arrested the suspect — whose name was not released — following the disturbing Sept. 8 incident in Roxbury, Mass.
Police said the incident occurred around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Warren Street, approximately 3 miles from Fenway Park.
Alarming security footage from inside the bus showed the suspect first shoving the elderly woman toward the bus’s open doors as she held on for dear life.
The alleged bus bully then delivered a second forceful push that launched the senior citizen out the passenger entry door and face-first onto the hard concrete in front of horrified bus riders.
It took about 20 minutes for paramedics to treat the passenger, during which bystanders and the bus driver stood over and helped the victim, WHDH reported.
Police said the elderly woman was conscious and did not suffer any serious injuries.
The unidentified suspect — who was rolling a baby in a stroller when she committed the heinous alleged assault — fled before police arrived.
“There was a lot of people there trying to figure out what was transpiring because we just saw an elderly lady fall on the ground and didn’t know what was going on,” witness Mark Reeves told WHDH on Monday.
While it took police time to locate the suspect, a woman from the area, Dorothy Stringer, said she recognized the assailant.
“I’ve seen that girl a lot of times … her attitude, she needs a change,” Stringer told the outlet.
“She needs some anger management, that’s what she needs, go to anger management because that’s wrong what she did.”
