A 64-year-old MTA worker was slashed across his neck by a crazed man walking on Brooklyn subway tracks late Monday, police said.
The MTA power maintainer was sitting outside a break house within the tunnel on the southbound No. 3 line near Nostrand Avenue in Crown Heights around 10:40 p.m. when he spotted the man strolling on the roadbed, authorities and sources said.
The worker repeatedly asked the intruder to get off the tracks, prompting the unhinged man to cut him on his neck with a “sharp object,” cops and sources said.
The victim was taken to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he’s listed in stable condition.
Power was cut off for oncoming trains during the late-night violent ordeal, sources said.
Meanwhile, the attacker – described as a man with a dark complexion and slim build, last seen wearing a black and white shirt – ran off through the tunnel and had not been caught by Tuesday morning, cops said.
