A University of Alabama at Birmingham football player allegedly stabbed two of his teammates at the team’s facility on Saturday, according to ESPN.
Daniel Israel Mincey, a redshirt freshman lineman, was arrested and booked at Jefferson County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder, according to records viewed by The Post and first reported by WTVM13.
Authorities have not confirmed if his arrest is tied to the alleged stabbing.
The two players were transported to UAB Hospital and are in stable condition.

The school has yet to release any of the names involved.
“UAB Police and Public Safety is investigating an assault that took place this morning at the Football Operations Center,” the school said in a statement. “Injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The suspect is in custody, and there is no threat to campus.”
The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m.
UAB, which was hosting South Florida at Protective Stadium on Saturday afternoon, decided to proceed with the game as scheduled.
“The team elected to play today’s game. UAB’s top priority remains the safety and well-being of all of our students. Given patient privacy and the ongoing investigation, we have no further comment at this time,” the school added.
Mincey was on Kentucky’s roster in 2024 — playing in one game — and transferred to UAB for the 2025 season.
