A Florida mother was arrested after stabbing three hospital employees while trying to steal her newborn from the neonatal intensive care unit, according to police.
Kendra Greene, 31, was caught by staff at Florida Palms West Hospital when she “violently removed” her 3-day-old daughter from a ventilator around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday night, CBS12 reported.
She yanked the infant free from her life-supporting devices, including a breathing apparatus, central line from her stomach and a feeding tube, according to court records.
When hospital employees intervened as she tried to leave, Greene pulled out a knife and stabbed three of them, police said.
“F–k you, bitch,” she told the first victim.
Another victim told police Greene ran toward an emergency room exit, carrying something close to her body in one arm and a serrated kitchen knife in her hand.
One victim was slashed on their right forearm, another on their right hand and the third on the side of their neck. All three were attacked when they tried to stop Greene from leaving with the infant.
She dropped her daughter off with a family member and left, and was taken into custody after crashing her vehicle, police said.
Her newborn was taken back to the hospital by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue in stable condition.
After her arrest, investigators learned that Greene is a diagnosed schizophrenic and deteriorating rapidly, according to an arrest report.
The three wounded hospital staff were treated and discharged the same night, cops said.
Greene was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated child abuse, battery and resisting an officer without violence.
She was booked at the Palm Beach County Jail on a $302,000 bond.
She appeared in court on Friday and was granted a $300,000 bond and ordered not to have contact with her newborn and the hospital or its staff, according to WPBF.
