A homeless man was charged with murder for fatally stabbing a 35-year-old homeless rival in Washington Square Park last month, police said Tuesday.
Khajah Gaye, 30, allegedly plunged a knife into Edward Bulock’s chest shortly before 4:30 p.m in the Greenwich Village green space on June 21 — as clueless park-goers lounged nearby.
Police found Bullock slumped over near a garbage can in an area where local undomiciled people often mingle, police sources told The Post last month.
The victim lived in a shelter near Union Square, according to cops.
He was rushed to Lenox Hill Healthplex – Greenwich Village where he died.
Bullock was in an altercation with Gaye and another man in the northwest corner of the park moments before the bloodshed, cops said.
Gaye was arrested several times this year, including four separate times on assault charges.
In May 2019, he was collared for an assault with a weapon, according to court records.
As Gaye was led out of the 6th Precinct Station house on Tuesday by a pair of detectives, he professed his innocence, according to amNewYork.
“What do you want to know?” he said to reporters.
When asked about the murder, he replied, “Stabbed who? What are you talking about?”
He was awaiting arraignment Tuesday night at Manhattan Criminal Court.
