A city school librarian left his 1-year-old daughter alone in a parked car for 5 and a half hours in the Bronx on Thursday while he went to work, police said.
Another school employee spotted the child in the car and frantically smashed the rear passenger window to get her out, cops said.
The baby’s father, Michael Dodes, 41, had left the child in his Subaru Forester while he was inside the Walter J. Damrosch School on Jennings Street in Morrisania, where he was recently hired as a librarian, authorities said.
She was taken to BronxCare Health System with non-life-threatening injuries.
Dodes was arrested around 2:45 p.m. and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, cops said.
His LinkedIn account indicates his last position was as a library coordinator for the Queens Office of School Library Service.
Before that, he worked as a library coordinator for North Brooklyn.
The city Department of Education did not immediately reply to a request for comment from The Post on Friday.
