They took the shirt off his back and a shoe off his feet.
A 20-year-old man was robbed of his wallet, shirt, and just one of his shoes before being whacked in the head with a machete while waiting for a train in the Bronx on Thursday night.
Three suspect approached the victim at about 9:40 p.m. at the East 180 Street station in Van Nest and demanded his property, police said.
The robbers took off with the young man’s wallet, shirt, and just one of his shoes, according to officials.
Before running from the scene, one of the robbers then displayed a machete and whacked the victim in the head with it, police said.
The robbers promptly fled the location on foot, hopping on a southbound train at Van Buren Street.
Police said the victim was taken by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is in stable condition.
Photos of two of the suspects shared by police show one of them wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black and yellow sneakers, as well as a blue medical face mask.
The other man was photographed wearing all black, including a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black and white sneakers.
Police did not share images of a description of the third suspect involved in the robbery.
