A woman cutting down Israeli hostage posters in Brooklyn pepper sprayed a Jewish safety volunteer and threatened him with a knife after he confronted her, police and sources said Tuesday.
Melissa Ugur, 20, was allegedly tearing the fliers up with a knife on Avenue N and East 23rd Street in Midwood around 2:30 p.m. Saturday — and exploded in a fit of rage when a Shmira Public Safety volunteer approached her, according to authorities and the safety organization.
“I’ll cut you!” she snarled when the man asked why she was taking the posters down, police said.
Ugur then allegedly blasted the 48-year-old victim in the face with pepper spray, police said.
She was collared by cops after other volunteers tailed her, Levi Leifer, the director of Shmira Public Safety, told The Post.
“They’re kidnapping and I pepper sprayed him!” Ugur — dressed in head-to-toe black — bizarrely ranted as police led her into the back of a cop car, video obtained by The Post shows.
Ugur, of Brooklyn, was charged with assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.
She was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on the charges Sunday and released without bail pending her next court date on Jan. 18.
The incident came as tensions continue over the kidnapped posters across the Big Apple amid the raging war in Gaza.
Last week, a 21-year-old man was arrested after trying to tear down Israeli hostage posters and getting into a caught-on-video scuffle with Upper East Side locals.
