A Florida man with a tattoo of Tupac Shakur’s “Only God Can Judge Me” lyrics appeared in bond court twice in two days this week for drugs and assault charges after stabbing a homeless man
Guillermo Vives, 32, is a career criminal who has been in and out of jail for more than a decade and found himself back behind bars this week, WPLG reported.
A homeless man told Hialieah police that Vives broke into his tent and asked him for drugs before stabbing him early Thursday morning, according to a police report.
Vives, who was out on a Miami-Dade County bond for cocaine possession, was later located by police mumbling to himself and holding a knife, which he refused to drop.
He was eventually taken to custody around 2:20 a.m. after officers tased him twice, according to the outlet.
Vives was booked by Miami Dade officers on the cocaine possession warrant and additional charges from the stabbing, including aggravated battery with a weapon causing great bodily harm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He appeared in court before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judges Christine Bandin and Milton Hirsch on Thursday and Friday.
In 2020, he was arrested in Miami for domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, WPLG reported.
He was sentenced by Bandin to two years probation beginning in July 2022 — but Vives was charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition at a correction facility earlier this year.
