A bumbling bro brazenly stole a big-screen TV off a wall, hitting himself in the face with the hi-definition set as he awkwardly carried it away, footage shows.
The apparently college-aged clumsy crook wandered into St. John’s University’s Staten Island campus building on Howard Avenue in the Grymes Hill neighborhood through an unlocked door around 12:40 a.m. April 13, cops said late Monday.
Video released by the NYPD shows the backwards cap-wearing thief struggling to remove the massive TV, which is hoisted on the wall of the private university building.
The feat turned out to be a cumbersome one when he wound up hitting himself in the face with the screen, the short clip shows.
Still, he managed to flee the campus on foot and hop into a getaway ride, cops said.
The suspect, described as having a light complexion and a slim build, was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweashirt, a gray hat, dark-colored jeans, and white and black sneakers.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
