Two vicious scooter-riding muggers tried to snatch an elderly Brooklyn woman’s purse in broad daylight this weekend – causing her to fall to the ground and smash her face, cops said.
The 88-year-old victim was walking on 50th Street near Fifth Avenue in Sunset Park around 4 p.m. Sunday when the violent pair – a man and woman – approached her, police said.
They then latched onto the senior’s purse, pulling her down on to the pavement and leaving her with facial fractures and damaged teeth, cops said.
Still, the octogenarian managed to hold onto her purse, cops said.
She was treated for her injuries at Maimonides Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.
The suspects were still on the loose Tuesday, and cops released photos of the duo – each riding razor scooters – in hopes of tracking them down.
The male suspect is described as having a dark complexion, wearing a black ski-mask, black “Raiders” T-shirt, black pants and white and red sneakers.
The alleged female mugger is described as having a dark complexion, wearing a black and white head-covering, blue sports bra and gray sweatpants, cops said.
