Investigators claim the killer who gunned down a Texas dad on Halloween night inside his Houston garage concealed his identity with a white Michael Myers mask.
The slain father was identified by relatives as Eric Pait Jr., 38.
Pait’s killing happened more than two months after the murder of his estranged wife and the mother of his three children, ABC13 Houston reported.
On Aug. 16, Carman Peterson, 37, was fatally shot inside an apartment — also in Houston.
ABC 13 reported that investigators had identified Pait as a person of interest in the still-unsolved murder.
Police said they were summoned to the grisly crime scene just before 11:30 p.m. Halloween night, after several neighbors and one of Pait’s children called 911.
Two of the young children were inside the house when the shooting happened, but were not hurt.
His third child, a toddler, was with a relative and was not home at the time, ABC13 reported.
Neighbors reported seeing a man in the iconic “Shape” mask fleeing the area.
The mask was made famous by the “Halloween” series of slasher films.
Investigators are still trying to determine a motive for Pait’s murder. T
he probe into Peterson’s killing also remains open, and detectives are trying to connect the two cases.
