Details have begun to emerge about the parents of Amanda Overstreet, the murdered Colorado teen whose severed head and hands were found in a freezer in January — more than 15 years after she was last seen alive.
Overstreet’s late stepfather, Bradley Imer, had a history of runs-in with police, online court records confirm.
Arizona authorities busted him back in 2002 for drug possession, trafficking and driving under the influence. He was pulled over for driving erratically, and cops found methamphetamine and eight illegal guns in his vehicle.
Imer, who died from COVID complications in 2021, struck a plea deal with the state and received probation. Eight of the nine counts against him were dropped.
Overstreet’s mom, Leanne Imer, 56, also had prior run-ins with the law.
She lost custody of Overstreet when she was only 3, with officials citing neglect and abuse.
While living in Texas, Leanne Imer was also accused of stealing from her own relatives, the DailyMail reported.
She allegedly abused the power of attorney she had over her father to gain control of his property, using forged papers to collect thousands from his bank accounts, according to the outlet. But she was never criminally charged for her alleged schemes.
Overstreet was last seen in 2005, according to police. Her detached hands and head were discovered earlier this year by a real estate investor who was clearing out the Grand Junction hoarder home previously owned by Leanne Imer — about 240 miles west of Denver.
DNA testing results returned in October confirmed the body parts were in fact Overstreet’s.
Leanne Imer allegedly told family her daughter ran away at a truck stop in Amarillo, Texas.
But the teen was never reported missing, police said. Investigators have not disclosed how they believe Overstreet died.
No arrests have been made in connection to the gruesome death.
Leanne Imer could not be reached for comment Saturday.
