ICE raids will make NYC safer

ICE’s initial Trump-era deportation raids are targeting only the worst of the worst — gang kingpins, accused double-murderers and so on — yet locals pols are still erupting in panic and fury after the feds moved in to protect New Yorkers.

City Comptroller Brad Lander called the arrests “heartbreaking,” slamming City Hall for “not standing up for our people” by . . . what, trying to stop completely lawful federal action?

“This mass deportation agenda is targeting our loved ones,” gaslighted Rep. Nydia Velazquez.

It’s not “mass deportation”; ICE only went after about 30 perps.

And they’re not “our people,” let alone “our loved ones.”

The throngs of officers are rounding up violent illegal immigrants, including murderers, extortioners, kidnappers, burglars.

They nabbed brutal Tren de Aragua “ringleader” Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, wanted on several charges, including kidnapping, burglary and menacing, in a Bronx apartment building.

Burglar posed as college student to spend 3 nights in dorm stealing from students: police

April 9, 2026

He’s allegedly one of the heavily armed thugs in a caught-on-video break-in of an Aurora, Colo., apartment last August.

“Thank God they got him,” cheered one relieved local.

Federal authorities nabbed alleged Tren de Aragua ringleader Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco in The Bronx on Tuesday.

Also hauled away was a Dominican national wanted for a double homicide in his home country, Fox News reported.

“Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our streets,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem tweeted, alongside footage of a “criminal alien with kidnapping, assault & burglary” being led off in cuffs.

Hear, Hear! Criminals of any type shouldn’t be on the streets, let alone those who also broke the law by entering illegally.

But lots of New York politicians, like Lander and Velasquez, are pro-perp as well as pro-illegal-immigration, and so joining in a chorus of horror over the raids.

“With ICE operating in our city, fear is spreading,” shrieked City Councilman Shaun Abreu. He slammed Mayor Eric Adams’ “lack of leadership” for cooperating with ICE.

State Attorney General Letitia James ditched her law-enforcement hat and instead played defense attorney: “I am monitoring the situation to ensure . . . [illegal criminal migrants’] rights are not being violated,” she tweeted.

“We should do everything . . . to shield people from the draconian and fascistic policies of the new federal administration,” bleated state Sen. Julia Salazar (D-B’klyn).

It’s pure insanity: ICE is not targeting “children” or innocents of any kind. The raids are limited to those who have committed crimes, face charges or already been ordered out.

And federal law fully authorizes the removal of illegal migrants who commit crimes.

ICE is merely following the law, and making Gotham’s streets safer.

The real tragedy? That Team Biden not only failed to carry out the law but flagrantly defied it, inviting millions in illegally, including gangbangers, suspected terrorists and crazed druggies.

And failing to seriously screen those it waved in.

Federal law enforcement officers conducted raids across New York City

A whopping 71% of Americans favor deporting illegal migrants who’ve committed crimes, per a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll.

New Yorkers, who’ve suffered enormously from migrant crime, should cheer the raids.

And demand to know what in hell Brad Lander, Shaun Abreu & co. are smoking.
