Brian Laundrie’s sister says that she has no contact with her parents after they stonewalled investigators about the whereabouts of Gabby Petito and her brother.

Cassie Laundrie spoke out on her Instagram after she began receiving online hate in the wake of the new docuseries “American Murder: Gabby Petito,” which spotlights allegations that Christopher and Roberta Laundrie stonewalled investigators and refused to help them locate Petito after she was reported missing on Sept. 11, 2021.

Cassie Laundrie, seen with her brother Brian, Cassie Laundrie Luycx says she has no contact with her controversial parents. Netflix

“If you’re new here and just starting to attack me today, I’ve been non contact with my parents for almost two years,” Cassie Laundrie wrote on her page.

“Have fun,” she added.

Cassie Laundrie also denied telling police that Brian left Gabby at a Wyoming hotel before driving back to Florida without her, refuting claims made in the docuseries by Suffolk County detective Tracey Barry.

“No one from any family contacted me until detective Barry called me,” Cassie wrote on her page.

“Det. Barry gravely miscommunicated what I told her in the phone.”

Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito spent the summer of 2021 traveling across the western United States in a white van, documenting their adventures on YouTube. On Sept. 1, Laundrie quietly returned — alone — to his parents’ North Port, Florida, home.

Ten days later, Petito’s family reported the Long Island native missing after they tried and failed to get information from the Laundrie family.

Petito’s body was discovered in Grand Teton National Park on Sept. 19. She had been strangled by Laundrie, who had been abusive to her.

Days after Petito’s body was discovered, the US District Court of Wyoming issued a warrant for Laundrie’s arrest. His parents refused to cooperate with authorities or give any information about their son’s whereabouts.

According to bodycam footage, they refused to answer any questions from police, and gave vague and unhelpful replies.

A month later, Laundrie’s remains were discovered in a Florida nature park alongside his backpack and notebook. He had killed himself and left behind a confession to killing Petito.

Although Cassie Laundrie says she didn’t know anything about Petito’s whereabouts, not everyone is sympathetic to her. More than 2,400 people have commented on her post, most of them critical.

Gabby Petito never felt connected to Laundrie’s family, according to a new docuseries Netflix

“Girl, a quick glance at your account shows that you never, not once advocated for Gabby,” wrote one user. “You and your folks deserve all the backlash and karma you’re getting for the complete lack of grace you showed that poor girl’s family during one of the worst things a parent could go through.”

“Read the room and shut the hell up,” wrote another user. “You and your family deserve to suffer the way that poor girl and her family did. Your brother is rotting in hell”
