A man wanted for mowing down a Brooklyn pedestrian with his car over a decade ago was nabbed in his native Dominican Republic this week, police said.
Anthony Cherestal, 46, was extradited back to the Big Apple and charged Tuesday with murder in the death of 52-year-old Ernice Auguste, according to the NYPD.
The two men were involved in a heated argument on Foster Avenue in East Flatbush on Sept. 3, 2010 when Cherestal jumped the curb and allegedly struck Auguste before taking off, cops said.
Cherestal and Auguste were strangers and it’s unclear what led to the argument, according to authorities.
Auguste was taken by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where he died two weeks later.
