An unhinged maniac repeatedly stabbed a fellow passenger on a northbound 5 train in the Bronx Sunday morning and cops are still searching for the suspect.
The 25-year-old victim was knifed in the body multiple times while aboard the train by an unknown assailant near Grand Concourse and East 149th Street, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Police were on the scene by 11:01 a.m. after responding to a 911 call. The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in critical but stable condition.
The suspect, who police described as a male with a dark complexion, fled the scene. It was not immediately clear if the men knew each other.
The suspect was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt, black vest, dark pants and dark shoes. Police said they have not yet identified him yet but that the investigation remains underway.
The stabbing closely follows a violent year for the city’s subway system — 2024 tying 2022 for the most murders in 25 years — with 10 straphangers murdered.
