A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back during a broad daylight shootout in the Bronx.
The teen was injured when two groups exchanged gunfire at Tratman Avenue and Saint Peters Avenue in the Westchester Square section on Saturday, June 24, according to the NYPD.
The troubling incident took place at about 7:46 p.m. near the Pearly Gates playground, police said.
The unnamed 17-year-old victim was hit in the back by a bullet during the broad daylight shootout.
He was taken by private means to Montefiore Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, cops said.
The teenagers or young men involved fled the scene of the shooting in unknown directions, according to officials.
Photos of the suspects shared by the NYPD show four individuals running from the scene, all appearing to have their faces obscured.
One can be seen wearing a red zip-up sweatshirt and face mask below the chin. Another is wearing a black zip-up and mask below the chin, while a third in a gray “Gap” sweatshirt has a face mask over his mouth.
Another individual involved can be seen in pictures wearing a white T-shirt and ski mask.
