A plucky 70-year-old woman scared off a burglar who scaled a fire escape to break into her Upper West Side home over the weekend, cops said.
The senior was inside her home at West 76th Street and Broadway around 6:50 p.m. Saturday when a stranger climbed up the fire escape and pushed up a window to sneak inside, police said Tuesday.
The intruder tried to snatch up some items – but called it quits when the woman confronted him, authorities said.

The would-be thief got away empty-handed, according to cops.
The NYPD released surveillance footage late Tuesday of the bearded man, in the hopes of identifying him.
He can be seen wearing a black baseball cap, shorts and sneakers while strolling on a nearby sidewalk.
The woman did not report any injuries.
