A Cincinnati City Council candidate has been arrested for allegedly breaking into the home of a Republican politician — a scared ex who had a restraining order against him, according to reports.

Kevin Farmer, 39, was allegedly caught on camera on Halloween night smashing a garage window and busting into the home of Rosemary Oglesby-Henry, a Republican candidate running for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District.

Oglesby-Henry told police that she and Farmer had a relationship “many years ago” — and that he is “an abuser” whom she had a restraining order against, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

She had herself been busted in September for allegedly pulling a gun on her ex in her home, which she denied and blamed on him trying to force his way in as a squatter.

Farmer — who has a previous conviction for menacing — was earlier busted in July on assault and domestic violence charges against Oglesby-Henry. However, the Republican later dropped the charges and obtained a restraining order against him instead.

In the latest showdown, cops said they ordered Farmer “countless times” to leave Oglesby-Henry’s home before he finally opened the door.

Oglesby-Henry provided police with footage showing Farmer forcing his way in and “walking around her kitchen,” according to the arrest report.

Farmer was charged with burglary and violating a protection order, both felonies. He is being held at the Hamilton County Detention Center on bonds totaling $60,000 and will be required to wear an ankle monitor if released.

He was running for one of the nine at-large Cincinnati City Council seats — without party endorsement — but announced days before his arrest that he was dropping out. However, he will still appear on the ballot.

Oglesby-Henry is running for Ohio’s 1st Congressional District, which is represented by incumbent Democrat Greg Landsman. She will face former CIA officer Eric Conroy and dentist Steven Erbeck in the 2026 Republican primary, according to the Enquirer.

She was arrested in late September for aggravated battery for allegedly pointing a gun at Farmer at her home. After her arrest, Oglesby-Henry claimed Farmer was “squatting” in her house and denied any wrongdoing, WLWT reported.

“He is an abuser, and I will not back down. I will use the law, the right way, to protect women and to set my life back on track,” she said at the time.

“I categorically deny this false allegation,” she continued. “I have cooperated fully with law enforcement, including consenting to a search of my home. No firearm was recovered. We will address the facts in court where they belong.”
