A couch-surfer beat a 68-year-old man to death and bit him “all over his body” in Queens last week — leaving behind a blood-soaked scene after the pair fought over drugs and money, authorities said.
Gyasi Denis, 35, allegedly bludgeoned Calvin Alexander with a piece of wooden molding and then chomped on him before choking him to death on Jan. 31st inside the victim’s home in Far Rockaway, according to court documents.
Three days later, police were called to Alexander’s third-floor home on McBride Street near Regina Avenue after the dead man’s pal went searching for him.
“Calvin’s dead,” Denis told the friend coldly before walking out of the building, Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said Tuesday.
When cops arrived, they found a room covered in Alexander’s blood.
“There was blood on the walls, blood on the door, blood on the closet, blood all over the bed,” Kenny told reporters.
Police tracked down Denis and took him into custody, bringing him to the 101 Precinct, where he allegedly confessed to the grisly crime.
He told detectives that Alexander was “bleeding like in the gore movies when the blood drips,” the criminal complaint alleges.
“I hit him with a wooden molding over his head,” Denis allegedly told cops, noting the gruesome attack lasted 20 minutes.
“I kept hitting him in the head, I was angry.”
Prosecutors said Denis also admitted to “biting [Alexander] on the cheek and all over his body” before stealing his credit card a few days later.
The violence erupted after the two fought about drugs and money, Kenny said.
Police also found cocaine on Denis when he was inside the stationhouse, according to prosecutors.
Denis was charged with manslaughter, burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
At his Queens Criminal Court arraignment, a judge held him without bail.
Denis’ next court appearance is Feb. 8.
