The Florida Uber driver with “crazy eyes” who was caught on camera allegedly pulling a gun on a passenger has been arrested — and sassed an officer while being cuffed.
Police body cam footage obtained by 7News Miami shows Jennifer Benitez, 23, being pulled over by cops during a traffic stop May 17, days after the terrifying encounter in Miami.
“Driver, put the window down! Do it now!” the officer tells Benitez, pointing a gun at her vehicle before ordering her to turn off the engine and step out, body camera footage from Port St. Lucie Police shows.
“Face away from me with your hands up! Take a step away from the vehicle to your left. Now walk backwards,” the officer continues.
Benitez lies face down on the road and is put in cuffs before being led to a patrol car and asked to confirm her name, the video shows.
When asked if she knows about the outstanding warrant for her arrest, she replies, “I have a right to remain silent,” the video shows.
She then gets snappy with a second officer who is frisking her, telling her, “You don’t have to undo that,” as she searches her jacket.
“You gonna tell me how I’m gonna do my job?” the officer retorts, before the first officer tells her she smells like marijuana.
“You can test me, I have the right to remain silent,” Benitez responds.
Benitez was extradited to Broward County and appeared in bond court on May 21 where she was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
She remains locked up in the Broward County Jail where her bond is set at $7,500.
The arrest took place on May 17, weeks after Miami rapper Krissy Celess was allegedly threatened by Benitez.
Celess, real name Kristel Omier, was on a late-night Uber ride from Miami to Hollywood when the argument with the woman police believe to be Benitez started.
Wild-eyed Benitez repeatedly orders Omier and a second passenger to get out of her SUV and calls 911 before suddenly pulling a gun on her, video shared on Instagram by Omier shows.
The two passengers were already getting out of the vehicle when Omier is heard saying that Benitez “got them crazy eyes,” which she believes set the driver off.
“I made that comment about her eyes,” she told 7News Miami.
“I was just thinking about my son,” the mom said, recalling the night.
Uber later removed the driver’s access to the app and said it was investigating.
“This is concerning, and we’re so sorry this happened,” the company said in a statement in response to the video.
Uber drivers are not allowed to carry guns, according to the company’s guidelines.
