A Tennessee mom has been arrested for allegedly plotting to murder her ex-husband, a former Nashville news anchor, after telling an undercover cop posing as a hitman that she wanted him to “disappear” and “be put underground.”
Angelia Solomon met with an undercover police officer at a shopping mall in Franklin, about 15 miles south of Nashville, Friday afternoon to discuss killing her ex-husband, Aaron Solomon, a TV and radio personality who previously worked as a news anchor at WSMV-TV, according to reports.
She allegedly gave the officer the registration to her vehicle and promised a future payment to make her ex “disappear and to be put underground,” Franklin police said, according to WKRN.
She also provided the undercover officer with information on how he could locate her husband, including places he may work and the area where he lives, WSMV reported.
Solomon allegedly told cops his death would allow their daughter to access a trust fund.
The mom, a pharmacist with UnitedHealthcare, previously made headlines after accusing her ex-husband of killing their 18-year-old son, Grant Solomon, in 2020, WKRN reported, citing a 2024 NewsNation interview.
Grant’s death was ruled an accident after he was run over by his own car in an apparent freak accident, with the Sumner County District Attorney’s Office declaring there had been no “criminal act” in his death.
The family has long mounted serious allegations against the father, and several years ago, their daughter, Gracie, published a YouTube video accusing her father of sexually abusing her, according to NewsNation.
Aaron Solomon has not been charged in either alleged incident.
Meanwhile, a temporary restraining order was placed against the mother in 2014, according to court documents obtained by WKRN, stating that she “continues to make baseless allegations of abuse against Mr. Solomon, sexually or otherwise.”
The documents say that in addition to the restraining order, Solomon could only visit her children for six hours each week. The documents also cited her mental health on several occasions, according to the outlet.
Solomon was arrested Friday and has been charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court for a reduction hearing on Tuesday.
