A reckless fleeing driver dragged an NYPD cop down a Brooklyn street when the officer tried to pull him over on New Year’s Day, authorities said.
Two officers were investigating an accident at Warwick and Fulton streets in Cypress Hills around 6:15 a.m. when they saw a vehicle drive off, cops said.
The motorist pulled over around the corner, but when the officers approached him, he refused to cooperate, police said.
He got back in the car, prompting officers to attempt to remove him, cops said.
But instead of complying, the unidentified man behind the wheel stepped on the gas, and dragged the cop a few feet down the street, authorities said.
The officer let go, and was hospitalized for minor injuries, cops said.
The driver ultimately pulled over a couple blocks away, and was taken into custody with charges pending, police said.
The circumstances of the initial accident were unclear, according to the NYPD.
