The unhinged stranger who allegedly shoved and kicked an elderly woman in broad daylight after she left Macy’s Herald Square last month was busted this week, cops said.
Anthony Kwamel, 21, was arrested late Monday afternoon and charged with assault in connection to the 1:15 p.m. June 10 unprovoked attack on a 75-year-old woman at Sixth Avenue and West 34th Street in Midtown, police said.
The senior had just walked out of the flagship store and was crossing the street when Kwamel — who was shirtless at the time — started yelling at her before pushing her to the ground and kicking her multiple times, cops said.
He took off after the attack, heading south on Sixth Avenue – where he was captured on surveillance video obtained by the NYPD.
The septuagenarian suffered minor injuries, and EMS transported her to Mount Sinai West, where she was listed in stable condition.
Kwamel had two prior arrests, both from 2022, prior to the random attack, cops said.
One of the busts was for assault and the other for menacing, authorities said.
His address, released by police, is listed as a men’s shelter in Midtown East.
