A New Jersey attorney and “exclusive” Miami yacht club owner turned himself in to police after being wanted for allegedly assaulting a man inside a nightclub on New Year’s Day.
Michael Lupolover, 43, confronted the man at the nightclub Queen Miami Beach, allegedly telling him “he does not belong there,” and continued to approach his table and “flip(ped) his middle finger” at the victim “throughout the night,” Local 10 reported citing a Miami Beach Police Department report.
After allegedly antagonizing the victim, a fight broke out, and Lupolover is accused of smashing the man on the head with a glass cup with enough force that it caused “a laceration to open above his right eye,” according to the police report.
The licensed NJ attorney then fled the scene, leaving the victim bleeding, before law enforcement arrived.
Cops spoke to witnesses and checked out surveillance video to corroborate the alleged victim’s accusations, according to the report. It’s also unclear if the men knew each other before the violent incident.
Lupolover turned himself over to the Miami Beach Police Department Tuesday and is facing an aggravated battery charge.
However, he declined to speak with investigators, according to the report.
At a hearing on Wednesday, a judge ordered Lupolover to be held on a $5,000 bond and was ordered to stay away from the victim.
He is being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to jail records obtained by Local 10.
Lupolover is the founder of the Lupo Yacht Club in Miami, which he started in 2020 “after years of chartering his personal vessel to friends and family.”
Members of the “exclusive yacht club” can access three vessels worth a staggering $3 million for a fee starting at $5K a month, according to the club’s website.
“We are a luxury yacht charter that owns our yachts. We have two pristine condition 70’ Azimut Flybridges in our fleet. Each one is equipped with a sea doo rxt-x 300” jet skis, an online description reads.
The club also has a six-person cruising boat named Lupo Jr.
“The company has grown to include a total of 3 vessels and has expanded its coverage to include the Bahamas, Sunny Isles, and South Florida, cruising much of the Exumas and the Eastern Florida coastline.”
Lupolover also runs a law firm in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, that focuses mainly on personal and business debt relief, according to the firm’s website.
He is also a licensed attorney in New York, New Jersey, and Washington, DC,
