Notebooks found in the car of accused Minnesota assassin Vance Boelter reveal the chilling, meticulous planning he allegedly put into the twisted attack on two Democratic lawmakers and their spouses, photos show.

Images released by the US Attorney General of Minnesota show lists of websites used to find the addresses of state and federal elected officials scrawled on a notepad — even noting when the services were free or paid.

The notes often identified the home addresses of officials, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota.

More than 45 Minnesota officials were named in the notebooks, according to authorities.

Additional notebooks were recovered from a residence where Boelter was renting a room in north Minneapolis.

Other photographs taken inside Boelter’s car show a shocking cache of assault-style rifles and ammunition.

Cops found a GPS inside Boelter’s SUV reportedly containing a “trip history,” including the addresses of Rep. Hortman’s house in Brooklyn Park, Sen. Hoffman’s house in Champlin, and the addresses of at least two other state officials.

A search of the area around Hortman’s home uncovered a disassembled semiautomatic handgun and at least three magazines, a tactical body armor vest and a flashlight, according to authorities.

A latex mask of a bald old man was also found close to Boelter’s home, according to a picture shared by the US Attorney’s Office.

The mask is consistent with what Boelter was spotted wearing in creepy footage taken from security footage on the night of the killings, authorities said.

Boelter, 57, of Green Isle, Minnesota, is charged with stalking and murdering Minnesota Democratic Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, in addition to stalking and shooting State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Acting US Attorney Joseph H Thompson announced on Monday.

He was arrested on Sunday night in a field less than a mile from his home after the largest manhunt in Minnesota state history.

A witness has described the moment she believes she saw Boelter lurking in the grass near her friend’s home in Green Isle before his arrest.

Wendy Thomas had stopped by her friend’s home to pick something up and is certain she spotted a person in the grass while she was backing her truck out of the driveway.

Initially, she thought the person was a law enforcement officer, she said. She was on the phone with her father at the time, who wanted her to hurry home.

“I’m like, ‘Oh, they’re clearing properties.’ That’s what I figured it was,” she told NBC News. “And the more my brain registered, I’m like, ‘Dad, there’s only one person. There’s no vehicle.’ And then I started freaking out,” she said.

Thomas watched the person walk and then duck down in the grass.”I was shaking, freaking out,” she said.Thomas flagged down officers who were opening up the roads around the tiny hamlet of Green Isle, an hour’s drive southwest of Minneapolis.”I started pointing, there he is, there he is,” she said.

Thomas was stunned that Boelter had been captured just a mile from his home after an extensive two-day manhunt.

“I didn’t think he was in the area at all. I thought he was long gone,” she said.
