The city councilwoman charged with biting a cop during a protest against a homeless shelter in her district is facing renewed scrutiny over a rally in her support organized by a group linked to the Chinese Communist Party.

Councilwoman Susan Zhuang (D-43rd Dist.) claimed to The Post that she had “no involvement” in the rally that drew hundreds of supporters who marched from Manhattan to Brooklyn on Sunday.

But messages on the Chinese social media app WeChat have raised eyebrows — with critics now accusing Zhuang of being a “liar.”

The missives, obtained by The Post and translated from Mandarin, show the lawmaker advising supporters on “how to act” and “what type of signage” to carry at the rally.

“Do not target the Mayor, he has already sat down to talk with us,” she appeared to write in response to a picture of one protest sign that read “mayor you need to communicate with us.”

Responding to another sign that said “we support the police but not excessive violence,” she wrote: “this slogan is not conducive of negotiations. also, do not clash with police.”

Zhuang, who faces several charges, including assault and resisting arrest over the July 17 clash, was hailed as a hero at the rally after she violently opposed the construction of a men’s shelter in Gravesend.

But at least one council source called Zhuang a “dangerous liar” after seeing the messages.

“Susan is a dangerous liar who loves to play victim, she knows exactly what she is doing here,” the source said.

A spokesperson for Zhuang insisted that the lawmaker was “not involved in the logistics for planning this event” despite her doling out advice on WeChat.

“The council member was supporting the NYPD as she always has and was advocating for safety of her community,” the rep said.

“This is yet another attempt by her detractors to divide the AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) community and silence their voice.”

Ying Tan — who ran against Zhuang for her city council seat last year — has also accused the pol of falsely stating that the NYPD used “unreasonable force against her” during the shelter protest.

“It is reckless and irresponsible to spread false information to constituents in an attempt to avoid accountability for her own actions,” Tan wrote in a post on Facebook.

A spokesperson for the council member said in response that her former opponent should set aside her “political agenda.”

“In this moment we should put our own political agenda aside and focus on lifting Asian voices across the city. This is a time to advocate for the community’s voices and call for a responsive government,” the spokesperson said.
