A gunman blasted a man outside a Bronx housing project and then barricaded himself inside an apartment — and was engaging cops in a tense standoff late Saturday night.
The 25-year-old victim was shot outside NYCHA’s Edenwald Houses just after 6:15 p.m. Friday — with the alleged assailant now locking himself in an apartment in the building.

The victim was hit in the leg and taken by medics to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, according to the NYPD. Initial reports that a woman was also shot turned out to be unfounded, NYPD officials said.
Both NYPD Hostage Units and Technical Assistance Response Units are on the scene.
The situation is still developing.
