A Queens man was arrested on Long Island after falling asleep at the wheel — then hitting the gas when police went to wake him up, striking another vehicle and injuring a cop, police said.
Cops found Jeffrey Cabreja, with crack and drug paraphernalia, unconscious at the wheel of a blue 2023 Audi blocking traffic in the middle of Green Acres Road in Valley Stream at 5:15 p.m. Friday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

When an officer approached the stopped car in an attempt to help Cabreja, he awoke and abruptly stepped on the gas, accelerating so fast that he struck a black 2019 Jeep — before flipping over.
One cop suffered a shoulder injury during the chaos, and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Cabreja, 30, was also taken to a hospital, after cops extracted him from the overturned Audi.
In their investigation, police discovered that he did not own or “have permission” to drive the Audi, and cuffed him, cops said.

Cabreja is now charged with driving while ability impaired, assault, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance and multiple vehicle and traffic law summonses.
He will face arraignment after he’s been cleared medically.
