The NYPD is on the hunt for a hateful suspect that spewed antisemitic comments at a 65-year-old man and spit on the victim’s face on the Upper East Side last month.
The suspect approached the man around 4:10 p.m. on July 27 near 5th Avenue and East 68th Street and directed the hateful remarks at him, police said Tuesday.
The unidentified individual also yanked down the victim’s face mask and spit on his face before fleeing toward Madison Avenue on foot, authorities said.
The NYPD is probing the incident as a hate crime.
Footage of the suspect released by authorities show a man walking down the sidewalk with a black hat and sunglasses on. He also was carrying a couple of bags while two water bottles were dangling around his neck.
He was wearing black pants and a multicolor shirt at the time of the crime.
Anyone with information on the incident or suspect can dial the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA.
