A sex offender fled a Nashville sheriff’s office and apparently hid in a hospital Thursday prompting a lockdown at the medical facility, officials said.
The Nashville Police and Williamson County deputies were pursuing the suspect Thursday morning when he reportedly ran into the Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West to hide, according to WSMV.
The lockdown was lifted when authorities failed to locate him inside the hospital.

Metro police said its tactical officers had searched floor by floor to locate the suspect, with the sex offender nowhere in sight.
“After a thorough search of our facility, local law enforcement has determined the suspect is no longer in our facility or on our campus,” the hospital said in a statement.
“No one was harmed and all are safe,” hospital officials added.
Police added that the sex offender, who has not been publicly named, violated the law by running inside the hospital.
The case is still under investigation as Nashville and Williamson police continue to search for the suspect.
