The handyman creep accused of torturing an 82-year-old grandma to death with a nail gun has a sickening past — including molesting his three daughters while working as a Washington pastor and stalking his elderly victim’s bed as she slept.
Jeffrey Zizz, 47, was already a convicted child molester when he allegedly targeted Marcia Norman — with authorities saying he was once busted hovering over her bed in the middle of the night several months before her murder. He allegedly admitted to cops to rubbing her shoulder while she slept.
The military veteran served just 11 months after pleading guilty to abusing his three daughters while serving as a church pastor near the town of Olympia, court documents show. He worked as a pastor at a Calvary Chapel of North Thurston in Lacey.
Prosecutors said he groped his three daughters — two teenagers and one pre-teen, who was home-schooled — over two years, and he had “intercourse” with one when she was 11.
He faced nine counts, including first-degree incest, first-degree rape of a child, and first-degree child molestation. He eventually copped to three of the charges in October 2022 — as part of a plea deal that allowed him to leave jail provided he didn’t go near his children and got “treatment” for mental illness, court records show.
After getting out on parole, he began working as a handyman to Norman, who did not report his nighttime break-in to police despite telling him to leave her house.
She was last seen having dinner with Zizz months later and appears to have invited him into her home on the day she vanished, Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders told reporters on Monday.
Zizz, a father of five, was arrested on April 7 in Missoula, Montana, after crashing the truck he stole from his roommate into an elk.
Norman was reported missing by her family on April 4 — and her body was found five days later, encased in concrete and buried under a shed in Olympia, which had just been built by Zizz.
A coroner’s report revealed that Norman was down with straps and tortured her for “hours” with a nail gun.
“Her onset from injury to death was not instant. It was hours,” said Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock.
Detectives later found a five-page letter inside Zizz’s house that “meticulously planned out a burglary and sexual assault of a woman who was referred to as his customer.” But it didn’t appear Norman was sexually assaulted.
Sanders seemed to indirectly blast the local DA for allowing Zizz to walk free after his heinous crimes against his own children. It’s unclear whether Zizz sought the treatment he was required to receive.
“The continual release of dangerous individuals into our community is a sore subject for me right now. No further comment,” he told Fox 13 Seattle.
Zizz is being held without bail on suspicion of murder and other charges.
