A teen mom allegedly sent a photo of herself appearing to stomp on the head of her 10-month-old baby in a twisted plot to win back her ex.
Alicia Brea, 18, from Hollywood, Florida, was arrested and charged with one count of child cruelty without causing great bodily harm after she sent the image to the child’s father, according to Law & Crime.
She also sent it to a friend, who was so alarmed that she reported her friend “stomping” on her baby, according to an affidavit obtained by the outlet.
“(Brea) stated she was upset with her baby’s father and sent him a picture of her stepping (with her right foot) on the baby’s head to see if the baby’s father would come back to her,” Broward County deputies wrote in the affidavit of probable cause, according to Law & Crime.
“(Brea) stated she and the baby’s father had broken up earlier today and (she) was very upset.”
When deputies responded, “the baby was wearing the same outfit [in the photo] when officers made contact,” the affidavit noted.
Brea was asked to sign a consent form to allow responders to go through her phone and read her messages — where they reportedly found the picture of Brea stepping on her child’s face, according to the affidavit.
Authorities later said the accused claimed she had also sent more pictures of the child unharmed to the father — to prove that she “would never hurt the baby.”
The baby did not appear to have any visible injuries, responding officers noted.
Child Protective Services was called as Brea was arrested and transferred to the Broward County Jail.
She was later released on $20,000 bond and ordered to wear a GPS monitor and not have any contact with the child, according to WPLG.
The teen mom was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation within 10 days and comply with the recommendations given by the doctor.
