Nobody in New York City had heard of Tren de Aragua three years ago, but the now-notorious Venezuelan “asylum-seeker” gang is now a major plague on the city.
The Post’s review of NYPD crime data reveals that TdA perps have racked up 517 arrests citywide this year alone.
Some 41 Tren TDA gangbangers accounted for 143 arrests — almost half of them in Midtown’s busiest retail neighborhoods.
Of the 517 arrests of TdA, “junior mafia” Los Diablos de la 42 and related perps, a full 295, or 57%, centered in Midtown.
That includes such tourist destinations as Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall: All these felony charges of robbery, grand larceny, assault and car theft — each representing multiple crimes without an arrest — make for a wonderful “stay away” signal to the would-be visitors the city wants to come.
And TDA crime radiates into outer borough communities, like Corona, where gang members are implicated in gun and drug sales (mainly the lethal fentanyl mix “pink cocaine”) plus sex trafficking.
The ‘bangers are far from the only criminals waved in through the Harris-Biden opened border, but they also have added impunity because the administration “can’t” deport Venezuelans . . . because accepts Venezuela’s “no” as a final answer.
Since Harris can’t think of a thing Biden did wrong, all her talk about being “tough” won’t do a thing for New York or the gang’s other stomping grounds if she wins on Tuesday.
If the city’s ever to see relief from this menace — and future ones that will surely follow if Tren prospers — America needs to elect Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.
