Two women were attacked in Manhattan’s Riverside Park this week in separate incidents, according to police and sources.
In the most recent incident, a woman was on a walk in the park near West 59th Street around 4:45 a.m. on Thursday when a man attempted to engage her in conversation, police sources said.
She tried to ignore the man and continue on her way — but he pulled her by the arm and knocked her to the ground, according to the sources.
When she reached for her phone to call the police, the man grabbed it and ran off with it, sources said.
Just two days earlier, around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, a 38-year-old woman was jogging on the bike path near West 89th Street when a man on a bike attempted to rape her, cops said.
The man got off the bike, shoved the woman to the ground and the sexually assaulted her, police said.
The attacker fled the park on his bike.
The woman suffered minor bruises and scratches and was taken by EMS to a local hospital in stable condition, according to police.
A suspect in the attempted rape was taken into custody Thursday night, police sources said.
