Eerie surveillance footage shows the so-called “Bourbon Street Hustler” Danette Colbert luring sports reporter Adan Manzano into a New Orleans area hotel room, where he was later found dead, police said.
The video shows Colbert, 48, with Manzano, 27, a reporter for Telemundo Kansas City who was in town to cover the Super Bowl, police in the New Orleans suburb of Kenner said in a Friday press conference.
The two entered a Comfort Suites hotel around 5 a.m. on February 5th. Over the next few hours, Colbert left the room, came back, and left again, the footage shows.
But Manzano never emerged and was found dead that night, Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley said.
Manzano’s phone and credit card were missing from the hotel room, and the card was used for fraudulent charges in stores around New Orleans.
Cops arrested Colbert the next day, and a sweep of her house uncovered the credit card and phone, along with narcotics and a stolen firearm.
“She’s a career criminal … Ms. Colbert has quite a record and rap sheet for confidence games, access device fraud, and robbery schemes,” Conley said, detailing a long history of theft and credit card fraud.
At least two of those cases involve Colbert seducing, drugging and robbing men.
Big Easy locals even referred to her as the “Bourbon Street Hustler,” according to the Daily Mail.
Colbert has been charged with property crimes in connection to the death of Manzano but has not been charged with murder.
However, authorities said the investigation “is still ongoing” and her charge may be upgraded when police obtain a coroner’s report, which could take weeks.
“As soon as the coroner finishes with his findings, he will classify it as either a homicide or whatever death the evidence leads him to,” Conley said.
Before his tragic passing, Manzano’s wife died last year in a car crash that also injured their young daughter.
