An 88-year-old woman fell from a first-floor window in the Bronx on Friday — as a man in the apartment slashed another 61-year-old lady there and stabbed himself, according to cops and law-enforcement sources.
It was not immediately clear what caused the elderly woman to fall roughly 7 feet from the window, but she suffered a cut to her face, and both she and the other woman were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, cops and sources said.
The 38-year-old suspect had slashed the younger woman in the neck around 7 a.m. inside the apartment on Clay Avenue near East 175th Street in Morris Heights, police said.
The man ended up barricading himself in the apartment, where he stabbed himself in the chest and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, cops said.
The man and women lived together, cops said, but their exact relationship was unknown.
