A woman who allegedly intentionally mowed down a 23-year-old moped rider — killing him — in the Bronx has been arrested and charged with murder for the road rage-fueled attack, police said Monday.
Lillibeth Vasquez, 28, of Allentown, Pa., allegedly flew into a fury when the victim, Robert Jimenez, sideswiped her Honda Civic, knocking off her mirror, at around 2:20 p.m. Saturday on Fox Street, near the Intervale Avenue intersection, cops and law enforcement sources said.
Both continued driving, but Vasquez is then accused of ramming into the scooter-rider, leaving him with fatal trauma to his body, according to police.
Jimenez, who lived just about two miles away, was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Photos from the site of the deadly collision showed a red vehicle with its front violently smashed in and the front right tire turned on its side.
Jimenez’s death was later classified a homicide, cops said.
Vasquez was arrested and charged Sunday with murder and manslaughter.
Her arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending Monday.
