A since-fired Indiana school choir and theater teacher has been arrested for allegedly filming himself masturbating in his classroom and sending the videos to teenage girls, according to police.
Kayvon H. Emtiaz, 28, solicited multiple 13-year-old girls through social media, telling them he was a “naughty teacher who fantasizes about his students all the time,” according to court documents obtained by Fox59.
He then saved some of the footage he got from underage girls to use while having his disgusting fantasies, according to the docs.
Police in Avon, a suburb just west of Indianapolis, began investigating in September after receiving a cyber tip from Snapchat that a “person of trust” was downloading child pornography in the area.
Around the same time, investigators heard rumors that a teacher in the Avon School District had been masturbating inside of schools.
Cops executed search warrants on two Snapchat accounts, “kavman105” and “fiftyshadedaddy.” Files saved to those accounts included videos of a man masturbating behind a desk “in what appears to be a musical classroom,” according to documents.
The videos were being sent to other accounts on the app, investigators said. Other files discovered included videos of underage girls in a sexual manner.
Emtiaz told the 13-year-old girls he was from Indiana and fantasized about keeping his female students after class and abusing them behind a locked door, according to the court documents.
The internet server the teacher used was connected to several other social media accounts, all named “kemtiaz,” investigators said.
The Indianapolis resident was questioned by police last Thursday where he admitted to using both Snapchat accounts. He confessed he had conversations with underage girls on the app but could not specifically recall all of them.
He said he saved the videos of the underage girls to masturbate to when he fantasizes about his students.
Police searched his phone after the interview and discovered the exact child porn files sent to him by one of the 13-year-old girls in the “hidden” section of his photos app.
Emtiaz was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of child solicitation and one count of vicarious sexual gratification.
He bailed out of jail on Monday following an initial court hearing after paying a $40,000 bond. A jury trial has been scheduled for Feb. 10, 2025, Fox59 reported.
Emtiaz taught at three different elementary and middle schools in the Avon Community School Corporation between Nov. 2019 and Dec. 2022, but continued working in the district as a choir and theater coach.
His extracurricular position was “immediately terminated” once the school learned of the allegations.
“We are unaware of any allegations connecting these charges and Avon students,” district spokesperson Kevin Carr told the outlet.
