A child-sized, fair-haired doll kept in a large wooden and glass case was hauled by cops out of accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann’s childhood home Saturday.

Photos of the scene show two investigators, wearing gloves, carefully carrying the doll inside the case from the rundown house.

The doll appeared to be blonde, with multiple braids in its long hair. A red bow adorned the top of its head, and it was clad in a red outfit.

The item appeared to be somehow posed inside the case, which was carved with flowers.

“We’re just going through his house looking to see if there’s any evidence,” a police source told The Post of the search of the alleged killer’s home. “If he has any trophies.”

The doll was among boxes of items law enforcement carted off as they sorted through the ramshackle house, including cat food and a cat scratch pole; a framed picture; and empty bookcase.

Investigators clad in hazmat suits, gloves and head coverings repeatedly filled blue bins with items from the home before emptying the bins into a truck.

Who is Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect Rex Heuermann?

A suspected serial killer has been arrested over the notorious Gilgo Beach murders in Long Island, The Post can confirm.

Rex Heuermann, 59, a married dad of two and architect at a New York City firm, has a home on 1st Avenue in Massapequa Park, sources told The Post.

His arrest is tied to the “Gilgo Four,” four women — Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Megan Waterman, 22, Amber Lynn Costello, 27, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25 — found wrapped in burlap within days of each other in 2010.

The body of Barthelemy was first found along Ocean Parkway on Dec. 11, 2010, sparking fears of a serial killer in the area.

By spring 2011, the number of bodies had climbed to 10, including eight women as well as an unidentified man and toddler.

Heuermann’s arrest comes after Suffolk County’s new police commissioner created a special Gilgo Beach Homicide Investigation Task Force in February 2022.

It’s unclear if the doll is related to the investigation unfolding at the Massapequa Park home, where suspect Rex Heuermann has lived his entire life.

Heuermann, 59, a married father of two who works as an architect in Manhattan, was arrested this week and charged with first- and second-degree murder in connection with three women whose bodies were found, wrapped in burlap, along Ocean Parkway.

He is considered a prime suspect in the killing of a fourth victim in the case, but has not been charged in connection with that death.

After the arrest, Heuermann, who pleaded not guilty during a Friday court appearance, told his lawyer, “I did not do this.”
