An Illinois car salesman was found dead about an hour and a half away from his dealership in Chicago after he disappeared the day prior during a test drive with two clients.

Crisóforo Osorio-Gonzalez, 36, had taken the two potential customers out for the drive, which started at 21st Auto Sales in Rockford on Feb. 10, but failed to return, according to KGET 17.

Gonzalez, a manager at the dealership, was found shot in the back of his head execution-style in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, the outlet added, citing the Cook County coroner.

Police say they later discovered the car he used for the test drive abandoned in Chicago.

“I haven’t slept good. I have all these people on my back calling me every day. So I just want justice. We all want justice. Families. Everybody wants justice,” the dealership owner told the outlet.

“He was a caring person about people. You know, he sells cars. It doesn’t matter if he likes dealing. He always was happy, a happy person, treated customers like he knew them for like 20 or 25 years.”

Police have yet to make any arrests.

Gonzalez’s family has demanded answers in the wake of his mysterious killing.

“Normally, if he were to go out, he would always let someone know. He’d say, hey, I am going to be here. If I need you to come for me, or if anything were to happen, I am here,” His sister, Araceli Osorio, told WREX Wednesday.

Osorio revealed she and her family were already fearing the worst once she heard her brother had gone missing, which only solidified after police had discovered her brother’s body but did not immediately identify him.

“Our mind just instantly went to that could be him,” said Osorio. “Then we started to try to call Chicago and the police department to find out if there was a way that they could tell us if it was him. If they if they could help us identify him,” said Osorio.

In Rockford, police shared in December that violent crimes decreased by 20% from 2022 to 2023 and that shootings dropped an additional 32%.

Gonzalez’s family said they knew something was wrong after he failed to communicate with them on the night of his disappearance, something he would not normally do. KGET 17

Despite the drop, Rockford’s violent crime rate is still one of the highest in the nation, according to the 2023 Crime Rates in US Cities Report.

In April 2023, Texas teens Luis Gutierrez and Cristian Saucedo were arrested after they allegedly shot and killed 55-year-old Khudhair Hamdan during a test drive.

Hamdan was hoping to sell a relative’s car and arranged to show the car when he spoke to the teens on Facebook marketplace, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
