Distinctive-looking “Island Boys” rapper Franky Venegas has been arrested on gun and drug charges following a traffic stop in Florida.
The 23-year-old — who skyrocketed to viral infamy with his twin brother, Alex, in 2021 with the song “I’m an Island Boy” — was found with a stash of prescription pills and an unregistered handgun on Sunday night, according to a police report from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
He grimaced through his grill-covered teeth in his mug shot that also showed his unmistakable tattooed face and wild hairstyle looking like a palm tree with six thick branches.
Venegas was a passenger in a yellow Corvette when the 25-year-old female driver was pulled over for failing to stop, according to the sheriff’s report.
A K9 unit searched the car and found under the passenger seat a plastic baggy filled with white pills, which were later determined to be oxycodone, the police report said.
Venagas initially told police that the pills weren’t his and he didn’t know how they got there — then later said he had prescription for oxycodone, but couldn’t provide any proof, police said.
Police also discovered a designer MCM Worldwide handbag underneath the seat containing a Glock that had been spray-painted blue and had the serial numbers missing, according to the report.
He was arrested and booked at the Naples Jail Center on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a prescription and possession of an altered firearm.
Venegas, also known by his stage name Kodiyakredd, and his twin brother, who goes by Flyysoulja, are internet famous for their distinctive looks as much as for their music.
They each have tattoos covering their bodies and faces, grills and unique, spiky hairdos — as seen in Franky Venegas’ mugshot.
He bonded out of jail on Monday and is scheduled to appear in court next on March 17, according to jail records.
Venegas was previously arrested in Fort Lauderdale in May 2024 when he pretended to be his brother when he was pulled over for reckless driving, according to WPLG.
A year earlier he was arrested in Broward County for allegedly beating his live-in girlfriend — but the misdemeanor charges were later dropped.
