A 14-year-old boy was stabbed at a pedestrian plaza in Lower Manhattan Sunday evening after a dispute with a man over a Gatorade bottle, according to police.
The boy — whose name was not released publicly — was with his friends in the Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza near Edgar Street and Trinity Place when the suspect stabbed him in the chest at about 5 p.m., cops said.
Emergency responders ferried the boy to NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue, where he was treated for what cops say were non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was described by police as a man in his 20s who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds.
He was still on the loose Monday evening.
It’s not clear whether the suspect and the victim knew each other.
Police said the fight started over a Gatorade bottle but did not have any more information about what contributed to the bloody feud.
